Well, not bad, but there is no ending to it. Better fall in somekind of interaction. Atleast with a screen saying - Well done. Some errors for modules are there , I think for creates. But who knows.

difficulty not progressive enough, slippery surfaces right of the bat, needs more visual polish

Very key things that you can do to make it instantly more playable: 1. Give the player a drop shadow, make the movement mechanics and the way they interact with the environment more readable. 2. Make the game 2d and use abstract shapes to represent the mechanics. This could be done with very simple texture mapping and shader work. I don't think anything else actually needs a rework to make this game fun.
