It didn't occur to me until very recently that this game has gotten fairly popular which is weird because this is complete ass. So to make sure that my most visible game doesn't make me a complete laughing stock, I've decided to come back and update the game.
A common complaint with this game is the lack of infinite levels. When initially creating it I ran into a bunch of bugs, some I couldn't solve myself due to them being from the engine. While this sucked I had to make the compromise of making shorter levels and teleporting the player. But now it's finally possible and is practically seamless. To go with this I'm working on a system where the level can have multiple themes and interchange them while playing.
Powerups were relatively fun in the original game so I'm going to be adding some into Terry Surfers. I also want to try out some original ideas that may or may not be related to my current main game in development.
If people are going to be playing this game a lot, I at least want them to earn something. I'm working on a shop system that'll allow players to purchase different outfits with coins they earn from their runs. Then when microtransactions are added I can flood the store with them!
It's no secret this game looks terrible. It was made back when scene graphics weren't very good. I've improved this quite a bit so it looks somewhat decent. This should hopefully apply to the UI too, as a lot of it was broken regardless.
Seeing as I'm doing this for the people actually playing this game, I'm open to any suggestions for features that you'd like to see so feel free to leave a comment with anything. Probably will only do maintenance work for this game after this update though.
