Ragdolls are a part of the model in Source 2. I know that sounds obvious but in Source 1 it seemed like they were a big deal, with caveats having to be carved out all over the code to treat them properly.attribute 'class' not allowed

In Source 2 you don't even need a special entity. It's just a model.

I set this model to be ragdoll-able in 20 mins, I probably didn't do a great job but it's a working ragdoll.

I know I should be comparing Source 2 to Unity and UE, but I can't help it, look at how you set up a ragdoll in Source 1.
