I really wanted to like +1 Jump per Jump because the concept sounds fun on paper—a platformer where you get stronger by doing the very thing you need to move—but in execution, it feels less like a game and more like a barely-finished tech demo that wears out its welcome in ten minutes. The developer claims this is "skill-based progression," but that is a massive stretch because the scaling completely breaks the experience. You spend the early game hopping inches off the ground in a tedious slog, only to transition almost immediately into an uncontrollable state where you launch yourself into the skybox and wait twenty seconds just to fall back down. That isn’t difficulty or risk management; it is just poor design.
Furthermore, the decision to have "no menus or upgrades" is marketed as a feature, but it essentially serves as an excuse for a total lack of content. There are no goals, unlockables, or incentives to restart a run once you realize the physics are incredibly floaty and prone to clipping through geometry. I even tried the multiplayer hoping for some chaotic fun, but it ended up being just two people flailing around the map, unable to interact because we were both stuck in the stratosphere. Ultimately, +1 Jump per Jump is a funny idea for a thirty-second video clip, but it lacks the polish, control, and depth to justify your time or money.
