Cool game, simple but fun. Minor constructive critisism. Small details, like a cannon or something for the base's laser to shoot from, or some kind of explosion effect when you destroy structures would go a long way!
starts a bit slow & repetitive, but surprisingly addicting, and it's fun to watch the tides turn in your favor as the swarm grows. really solid game jam
very nice! overall very much liked the gameplay. feels kinda slow. gonna keep playing!
here's some points I like to adress:
- need "ESC Menu" (control rebind, sound and stuff)
- need minimap (for overview as well as to switch places)
- need 2x/4x/8x/.. speed
- badly need progression for between games (unless you want to be roguelike)-> make me earn gold after run so I get slightly boosted stats on base/tower/..?
-> distant progression: maybe let me take over enemy spawn points after defeating?
Recommend!
The push-pull waves, resource management and imbalanced design kept me engaged.
A pain point was the pathfinding breaking in some key points (gaps and bridges).
The first 5 minutes are a bit boring with nothing to do. (Maybe there is a way to make it more intersting without increasing starting resources).
Personally it was a humbling experience for me because I flied through the level on the first try but then got destroyed when the last area unlocked. I had to learn to pace myself and consolidate before moving on.
I would love to see this expanded with more variety and fine-tuning.
Great fun although here's a suggestion or two .
1. In the beginning when you instruct the player to pick a spawner to begin, maybe highlight the spawners themselves to indicate what the spawners are. It's not the end of the world and to be honest this is a bit of a non issue but I spent an extra few seconds clicking between the large nexus and the spawners themselves before realizing the smaller ones were the spawners.
2. There's a bit of a difficulty spike after you destroy the 3rd/4th enemy nexus, all of a sudden you're flooded with enemy bots along with the new bot type. Maybe have the AI gradually increase its spawn rate as you destroy more of their towers instead of all at once?
