Hello,
I am confused about the current server structure and how player data is handled between versions. Currently, I see three types of servers:
  1. Servers [1.1.8] tag  with unusual names and "Scene map" indications.
  2. Servers [1.1.9] tag  with official names and no map details.
  3. Servers with no version tags with unusual names and  no map details.
Could you explain why all servers were not migrated to the latest version? My progression is split across them: I am Prestige 55 on 1.1.8, Prestige 40 on 1.1.9, and Prestige 0 on the untagged ones.

I had to switch servers early on to avoid a high-level player who was griefing beginners(me inc.) in the starting zone.
However, now that the "New Game" and "Join Game" options are gone, I was picking the first server on the list with a funny name.
Then I noticed the tags. I'm a bit blind @_@ so I was picking the server with a '<3' in the name lol. (Those have a low population now)
Is there official information on how data migration works? Specifically, will 1.1.8 data merge into 1.1.9, and what will happen when version 1.2.0 is released?

How can I migrate my data from version 1.1.8 to 1.1.9? I suspect they will eventually upgrade from 1.1.9 to 1.2.0, and I am concerned that my 1.1.8 data might become corrupted/lost/ignored during the process.

In the meantime, I will continue playing on the servers [1.1.8] where I am currently Prestige 55, aiming to reach my goal of Prestige 60. I look forward to hearing back from a developer or an administrator regarding this matter.

Thank you for your time.

Hello,

To clear up the confusion regarding the server structure and save data handling:

The [1.1.8] servers were originally player-hosted servers when we first released on S&box. Since then, we have transitioned over to dedicated servers, which are the servers marked as [1.1.9 OFFICIAL US/EU].

We now have a save migration system connected to a database, but this system only works with the dedicated official servers. Because of this transition, the old 1.1.8 player-hosted servers have since been shut down.

The other servers you may still see without official tags are community/player dedicated servers that people were able to host during release. These are not official servers and are planned to be removed in the near future to avoid further confusion.

At launch, we did experience some stability issues with the dedicated server infrastructure, which unfortunately caused some of the save inconsistencies players experienced. Thankfully, those issues have since been resolved.

If you need help with save recovery on the [1.1.9 OFFICIAL US/EU] servers, please join our Discord and we can look into recovering or restoring your progress there.

Going forward, our plan is to stick entirely with dedicated servers for future updates. This means future versions such as 1.2.0 will continue using the dedicated server infrastructure, helping eliminate the progression splitting and migration issues players have been experiencing.

Thank you for your patience and support while we worked through these early release issues.
