Hello! Today I bring to you a game I've spent the last two weeks working on for Game Jam III

https://sbox.game/skylorbeck/make_it_count

Inspired by the Call of Duty gamemode "One In The Chamber", Make It Count is a fast paced multiplayer shooter where each player has only one bullet, and three lives. If you get kill, you get another bullet. If you miss your shot... switch to your knife and better hope your opponent misses too. If you can secure a knife kill, you regain your bullet.

Rounds end when only one player has lives left, or the timer expires. A match is seven rounds.

Intermittently, rounds may be slightly different via Round Modifiers. Right now there are only four modifiers, but I am working on adding more asap once the bugs with the ones I have now are fixed. Please give me your ideas for modifier rounds if you have them.

The bots are based on the SBoku bots created by Righty, and without those this project wouldn't have been possible. They aren't always the smartest, but they can still catch you off guard pretty easily.

I am a solo developer, and I am trying to use Human Made assets only. All the Icons in this game were made by Rhos, all the models used for the map were made by Kay Lousberg, the music & sfx were purchased via Humble Bundles over multiple years. I coded everything else myself.

I hope you enjoy! No matter what happens, I am super proud of this game and what I was able to accomplish in such a short time.

I wanted to add multiple weapon types, player customization somehow, map voting, and so many more things. But I just didn't have the time in the Jam. If this game ever finds a playerbase, I would love to revisit the ideas and expand the game in the future.

With the last few days coming up for the Jam, I'm focusing on improving what I have here. Today I added a map randomization system that changes the cover and some of the map paths every round, and ideally there would be round modifiers that change the map further in various ways. With the next days I plan on adding more round mods, and hopefully some other stuff I haven't mentioned yet.
