🌳 Idle Tree — Patch Notes β 0.6.1

"Less Boring, More Balanced"

A player left a pretty straightforward review: "Boring to be honest". 8 minutes in, halfway through the blue tree, never reached prestige. And honestly? They were right.

This patch is entirely dedicated to fixing that. And I'll be transparent: balancing an idle game is probably the hardest thing I've done in this project. I genuinely didn't expect it to be this complex. Every cost tweak shifts run length by several minutes, every production boost makes future runs feel trivial. It's a permanent house of cards. This patch went through dozens of iterations to find something that feels right. I still don't know if I nailed it, but it's a lot better than before.

🔵 Blue Tree Rework


This was the core issue. The main tree had a progression that completely fell apart around row 5, costs were scaling way faster than production could keep up with.

Costs have been reduced across rows 3 through 8, with bigger cuts the further you go. Some late-game nodes were reduced by up to 50%. Production values on several key nodes have also been bumped up so the ramp feels more rewarding. A few thematic fixes too: Alpha Lens now multiplies α instead of P, and Omega Pulse has been toned down from ×3 to ×2 α.


✦ Cosmic Events Rework


Every event used to do the exact same thing, slap a production multiplier on for a few seconds. Now there are 4 distinct mechanics:

Stellar Alignment and Quark Storm keep the production multiplier format, at ×2 for 45 seconds and ×3.5 for 20 seconds respectively.

Energy Wave now gives an instant production burst — equivalent to 3 minutes of output dumped directly into your resources the moment you click it.

Cosmic Resonance is a hybrid: ×2 production and −50% on all node costs simultaneously for 30 seconds.

Time Rift is purely a cost discount event. −80% on all node costs for 20 seconds, no production boost. Great for grabbing expensive nodes you've been waiting on.

Event descriptions now update in real time when switching language, which was a bug.

⭐ Prestige Rebalance


The prestige bonus has been brought down from +15% to +10% per prestige, same for Dark Prestige. Eternal Conscience now upgrades it from +10% to +20% instead of +15% to +25%.

The prestige cost has been tuned to target around 15 minutes for a first run: 350M P + 3.5M α.
