Text to Animation

A text-to-animation tool for the s&box editor.

- Type a prompt like "An object walks forward." and get an animation in seconds, generated locally in C# with UniMate.
- Works on any skeleton: s&box Human, classic Citizen, animals, birds, spiders and custom VMDL or FBX rigs.
- GPU generation with a CPU fallback, fully in-process, with no Python, servers or native DLLs.
- Text-to-motion, multi-step sequences, in-betweening between pinned poses, text edits on unlocked bones and variations.
- Automatic clean-up: smoothing, foot locking and seamless joins between generated windows.
- Timeline editing with trim, split, reverse, speed, loop, root-motion and pose keys.
- Saves straight into your VMDL as animgraph-ready sequences, with DMX and FBX export (skeleton or model with the animation).

Prompting Guide

UniMate learned from short captions that all start with "An object". Write prompts the same way.

- Start with "An object", even for people: "An object walks forward." The skeleton tells it what the character is.
- Write one plain sentence about two seconds of motion: "An object waves with its right hand."
- Describe the whole action in that sentence. "An object runs and then performs a front flip." works as one clip; it is not split into parts.
- Name the side and direction: "punches with the right fist", "turns to the left", "walks backward".
- For longer sequences, use a multi-step sequence with one prompt per step. Don't chain many actions into one sentence.
- Rare moves need their lead-in. A front flip needs the run-up, or it often comes out as a backflip.
- Generate a few takes and keep the best; each take is a fresh sample.

Examples
- People: "An object walks forward.", "An object jumps in place.", "An object crouches and then rises back up.", "An object sits down.", "An object performs a backflip."
- Animals: "An object gallops forward.", "An object turns to the right.", "An object rears upward on its hind legs."
- Birds: "An object flaps its wings and flies forward.", "An object glides forward with its wings spread."
- Snakes and fish: "An object slithers forward.", "An object swims forward with its tail."
