Needs Work
Needs work. Feels like an AI did 90% of the job if not more. At least it works for what it's supposed to do. Tested with a random gameboy color rom and it worked but was displayed as regular gameboy game. Issues : - There is no error/warning if a game doesnt work. You just stare at a blank screen - The list doesn't update on its own sometimes, the text says that but then there's also a refresh button - Sometimes pressing buttons don't do anything (easiest one to trigger that is the volume) - Sometimes it's the wrong one that ends up being pressed, a bit harder to trigger - Alt-tabbing then going back to main menu with a click sometimes randomly start the game - If you have too many roms the "rom player" text is placed too low - I don't understand why there's a VSYNC button when s&box already handles that Suggestions - Ditch the text interface for something else that does not feel written by an AI. - Change the UI for something modern (not scifi that's ugly too), check sGBA for example of what I mean - Remove the "pressed key" behavior when you click on a button/rom, it just feels off and a bit confusing - Add a shortcut to load/quicksave - Add the ability to speed up the game - You can quicksave but not quickload? - Add the ability to resize the screen - Add an image for each game instead of just a string of text.

It works but honestly we already have a gb emulator in s&box that is much better made. Please consider implementing other platforms and maybe it will have a bright future. It seems like NES controls are not responsive at all.

For a GB emulator it has some screen tearing as well which for playing a GB game is sure strange to see but other than that i like the simplicity of the emulator and it works quite well enough as it is which i say give it a shot!. i think probably the biggest upgrade you could possibly do besides adding options like more filters, proper vsync and such is multiplayer, Even if it was done locally would be cool though i know that one could be tough. Editing: It's been one day since i checked this out and left a review and it already addressed most of what i said, the screen tearing still persists even with vsync on which i don't know if this is something on my end but i still have to point it out, other than that i can say for certain is a quite solid emulator! Feedback: What i realized while playing is that on the options you have the option to 'Save State' but not 'Load State' which i am now more confused as to what's the point since the game automaticly plays where you left off upon loading the rom that you already played which also made me realize that you could add a 'Reset' button/option as well, maybe add up to 5 save states you could choose from with thumbnails of a snapshot of where you saved the state for clairty as well.
