Needs work. Feels like an AI did 90% of the job if not more. At least it works for what it's supposed to do.
Tested with a random gameboy color rom and it worked but was displayed as regular gameboy game.
Issues :
- There is no error/warning if a game doesnt work. You just stare at a blank screen
- The list doesn't update on its own sometimes, the text says that but then there's also a refresh button
- Sometimes pressing buttons don't do anything (easiest one to trigger that is the volume)
- Sometimes it's the wrong one that ends up being pressed, a bit harder to trigger
- Alt-tabbing then going back to main menu with a click sometimes randomly start the game
- If you have too many roms the "rom player" text is placed too low
- I don't understand why there's a VSYNC button when s&box already handles that
Suggestions
- Ditch the text interface for something else that does not feel written by an AI.
- Change the UI for something modern (not scifi that's ugly too), check sGBA for example of what I mean
- Remove the "pressed key" behavior when you click on a button/rom, it just feels off and a bit confusing
- Add a shortcut to load/quicksave
- Add the ability to speed up the game
- You can quicksave but not quickload?
- Add the ability to resize the screen
- Add an image for each game instead of just a string of text.
