Second island - the Volcano. Black ash instead of sand, blocks 15x tougher, its own ladder of 8 shovels and 8 backpacks, its own 10 treasures worth up to $400K. Opens at 7 rebirths.
Travel between islands: the WORLD button in the corner, or key 7.
The game remembers which island you logged out on and puts you back there.
Village paths and the plaza now lie flush with the sand instead of standing on a podium - you step onto them from any side, no jumping.
Rebirth always returns you to the beach: the volcano is no place to be with a starter shovel.
The sell stall names the local resource - SELL SAND on the beach, SELL ASH on the volcano.
The character could not step over even a 5 cm kerb - the controller ignored its own step height and just slid along obstacles. Stepping now works up to knee height; walls are still walls.
Paths and plaza flickered where tiles overlapped in the same plane.
Rope posts along the paths caught the player by the shoulder and blocked the way.
The plaza is perfectly flat again - no ridges between tiles.
On the volcano, digging a single block deep threw you back to the beach.
Falling off the volcano island respawned you in the beach village instead of the volcano one.
Volcanic shovels showed beach rarities and beach flavour text.
Ash broken on the volcano sprayed yellow beach sand.
The volcano is a TEST WORLD: shop buildings, chests and treasure models are not made yet, trading points are marked by signs only, and icons for volcanic shovels and loot still reuse beach art. Prices and dig times there may change.
Tiles now show a hairline seam between them - that is the gap that keeps them from flickering.
