🧬 Progression has been wiped

Everyone starts from zero with v2.0. New leaderboard, fresh evolution tree, clean stats.

🦠 Brand new player model system

Cells are now driven by a fully dynamic deformation rig — they squish, stretch, pulse and react to movement, consum, and splitting in real time instead of being static sprites. Everything you do now pushes and pulls the body shape, making every interaction feel alive.

⚔️ Abilities — new active skill system

A complete set of active skills is now in the game for the first time. Numbers will get tuned based on how they feel in real matches:
  • Speed Dash — burst of speed for escapes and catches
  • Shield Burst — become impenetrable; attackers bounce off and get force-split
  • Toxic Spit — fire a poison projectile that drains an enemy's score
  • Mass Bomb — delayed shockwave that force-splits every enemy in range (now draws a dark danger circle showing the exact blast radius during charge-up)
  • Blink — short-range teleport forward
  • Ghost Mode — turn invisible for a short window
  • Freeze Field — snapshot slow on everyone inside the radius
  • Blind Field — blur enemy vision inside the zone
  • Cell Dash — dash forward and leave a split cell behind
  • Rapid Growth — food gives 3× mass for the duration
  • Food Magnet — pulls nearby food toward you
  • Evolved — doubles all future passive picks at the cost of giving up actives

Expect tuning passes in upcoming patches once I see how they play out.

🌱 Evolution tree overhaul
  • Complete rework into a proper skill-unlock tree
  • Earn tokens every 3 levels, spend them to permanently unlock new skills that then appear in your ingame picker
  • Prestige button appears once you've unlocked everything

🎯 Roguelike pickup system
  • Power-ups are gone. The old on-map power-up pickups have been removed entirely
  • Replaced by a milestone-based pick system: at score thresholds during a round, the game offers you one of three passive or active skill cards to choose from. Every round is now a build in progress
  • Your tree unlocks determine which skills can show up in the picker

🏆 29 new achievements

🔊 Sound overhaul
  • New Background and SFX sliders in the main menu — settings persist across sessions
  • Fixed/Added a whole set of sounds

✨ VFX overhaul

🎨 UI refresh

👗 Cosmetics — temporarily reduced

With the new dynamic cell model, most cosmetics from v1 need to be re-authored to fit the new rig. The cosmetic catalog has been trimmed for this release and will return in a follow-up patch with new items designed around the new body system.
