Hey everyone! I'm super happy to see so many people playing the game lately. This has been a real passion project for me and I've poured a ton of hours into it, so getting feedback from real players is honestly the best feeling in the world. Thanks for hopping in. :)
Earlier this week I shipped a big update focused on onboarding and making the early seed progression loop more fun. As soon as it went live, player numbers skyrocketed compared to before and retention went up too! It's been a really cool learning experience seeing what actually clicks with people and what doesn't.
After that I spent hours and hours battling some nasty multiplayer issues that were making the game basically unplayable for a lot of people. Fingers crossed, I think I've finally got it fixed now.
Then I spent a bunch of time building out a casino with 3 slot machines (for now), which is a nice way to give players something fun to do during the downtime between crops growing.Here's a quick rundown of what's new:
- Onboarding tutorial: new players were getting confused about what to do when they first joined, so there's now a proper tutorial that walks them through the basics. - Multiplayer fix: spent way too many hours on this, but the worst of the multiplayer issues should now be sorted. - Casino: 3 slot machines to start, more games coming later. Nice for the downtime between harvests. - 4 new crops: more variety in the seed shop. - Sound effects: the game actually has sounds now! - QoL stuff: lots of small annoyances cleaned up.
And here's what's coming next:
- Prestige skill tree: I'm currently designing a system where progression becomes really personal. You'll get to choose which path to take and what to upgrade, which should add a lot of flavour to how each playthrough feels. - Fishing: lots of people have been asking for this and honestly it would just be cool to have. So it's coming. - Weather cycles: dynamic weather to make the world feel more alive. - Special effect crops: crops with unique effects to mix up the loop. - More QoL: I'll keep chipping away at all the small stuff.
I'm pushing updates out as fast as I can while also trying to maintain my sanity, my job, and my relationships, so please bear with me if some things take a bit longer than expected.
