Game only launches in VR mode

Recently got access to the game and unfortunately cant play it as the game forces VR mode to be active. There is no options in the properties for the game in steam to disable vr and i do not get a popup window when launching that asks for a VR mode or desktop mode. Attempting to use my VR headset and find the setting in game doesnt work either as both my controllers have massive error models connected to them and clicking on the settings cog doesnt do anything.

Its also worth noting ive attempted to add "-nohmd" to the launch properties to no success. Any help would be massively appreciated as i am very excited to see what the game has to offer.

Also having this issue, I always have my headset plugged in. Would love some sort of command line option or something to not start with VR.

After some searching on the Discord I found that you can add -novr to your command line options.

Ahh, I was having an issue with a 100% rate startup crash and this issue helped me find a solution.  Adding the -novr option finally allowed me to boot up the game without crashing.  On a side note, SteamVR was never noticeably launched although SteamVR did curiously show up as my most recently played game.
