Hey guys!

I've asked lots of people about this and I haven't gotten a full answer so I'll just throw it here, will exporting to Steam include obfuscating of code/assets? Or will that be left to the developer? And if you fork a private version of s&box for your team, will that require permission to use commercially from Valve? Since their Source 2 engine is behind the MIT licenced editor. I have emailed the legal team but they haven't gotten back to me, so I'm relying on the community or someone @ FP to help me out haha

Games are compiled into DLLs, and the rest is up to you. no, nothing belonging to Valve may be used or distributed without a license from Valve.

EDIT: Apologies I've read the EULA, and test compiled a game, although the game is compiled as DLLs they could be cracked open easily since it's just .NET DLLs, so a protection layer may be needed, using a private version is allowed but you must ask Facepunch (from what I'm reading) so that might be a roadblock for some, since you may need a playable demo for that, only Valve is needed for editing the actual Source engine, (which I hopefully don't need lol)

It will be left to the developer, same as Unity, Godot, Unreal, etc.
