 Hey Facepunch team,

I want to suggest adding full native C++ support to s&box. This way, developers could choose to write their projects in C#, C++, or both simultaneously.

Here's why I believe this would be a huge boost for the platform:

Creators shouldn't be limited. Giving them the option to use only C++, only C#, or a mix—like C# for UI and scripting, with C++ handling the backend—would make workflows much more flexible.

The benefits of C++ are clear: it offers near-metal performance, accurate memory control (which can prevent stuttering caused by garbage collection), and the ability to incorporate existing, highly optimized C++ libraries for physics, rendering, or networking tasks.

For those who don’t code in C#: since a big part of the community uses C++, supporting it makes s&box more accessible for experienced programmers and system engineers who want to jump in without learning a new language.

By enabling us to choose one or both languages, s&box could become an incredibly powerful engine. Thanks for considering this!

If you want to write C++ for standalone games you already can, the same way you can in Unity.

Obviously we're not going to support this on the platform.

you can write C++ and invoke it from c#

there is no reason to want to do anything else
