Remember when valve hired modders of Half Life to make their games with their ideas. What if Facepunch did the same thing but with the s&box community, bright ideas but not the funding to do make them possible, yes it would take an absoloute masterpiece to get the attention of anyone higher up however I think this would be a good concept to trial as it would let people express their ideas without being trapped in their skill limits. Yes you can learn to code, I think you should do that too, however I'm saying this more as a concept and not more as a "Facepunch must do this as it will boost sbox reviews", sure it might if they upload it on s&box and reducing the slop content.

fp has hired from the community on multiple occasions, it seems to play out well most of the time. :)

I was on a hiatus, until vibe-coding made the process much enjoyable for me, but I was involved with s&box years ago. Let me just say, a huge part of today's Devs are community hires, so s&box is in the hands of actual gamers and fans :)

Off the top of my mind, around the time I was last active, Devultj (the goat), matt, and possibly Carson got hired within the community. There were others, but I think that relationship dissipated over time/some other drama happened and they ended up leaving.
I knew these folks back from Garry's mod time, we were all involved in the same development/platform circles in Garry's Mod around.... 7-9 years ago? Damn I'm old.

I would argue that it would be better to inspire, motivate and help the devs in the community that have not been in the dev preview since day 1, but that's just my opinion ;) I would think the more motivated / happier devs are on your platform, the better more games will be. And hey! there is a system in place, to give you the opportunity to have your own Facepunch Studio! Can you believe it?

Haha, what's wrong with divergent thinking? I mean, you honestly think when I say motivated developers make better games that I should get medicated for having that thought?
