ability to reply to messages in threads so that the user receives a notification and also receives a notification when new messages appear in a thread created by user
I'd like to suggest adding a dedicated topic or section for recruitment where community members can post about their projects and look for collaborators — such as developers, level designers, 3D artists, graphic designers, and more.
This would help project creators clearly present their needs, and make it easier for talented members to find opportunities that match their skills.
It would be a great way to encourage collaboration within the community and streamline the process of building and joining teams.
I wrote something out, went to paste in a Steam Marketplace Link and the webpage completely froze :( Potentially a safe workaround to save these textboxes before they're submitted to prevent having to type it all out again :')
Being able to quote posts directly - e.g. click quote button on a post and it adds to your reply. Quote should link to the original post.
A recent posts sidebar to show the most recent X number of posts would be nice to have.
Another minor gripe, currently there is no ability to remove reactions, or it isn't obvious. A separate button that shows next to existing reactions after you add one would be nice to have. Currently, clicking a reaction that you've added just shows the effect again.
Agreed with Trundlr, right now titles are 32 characters, might be cool to bump that up to at least 64?
I can't fit this title into a thread: Texture Tool / Fast Texture Tool Feedback Thread WIP and shortening it to Fast/Texture Tool Feedback WIP feels weird.
People here, complain about details. But 🌲trees vs 🌲🌳🌴🎄🎋🌳forest thing, I think there are some root issues that generate a lot of detail issues:
1/ the wheel was reinvented by writing a new forum software. There are plenty of existing mature forum software. Or even GitHub discussions which involves 0 installation/maintenance
2/ if wheel reinvention is needed for some kind of strategy issues, then resources should be allocated to add the missing features.
Among these, the "email notification on new post in a subscribed to thread" should be a priority. It was requested in https://sbox.game/f/meta/31/1/#post13, i.e. about 10 months ago. W/o this, as much as I don't like Discord because of the low SNR (signal to noise ratio): I have the tendency to want to use it. Which is bad. Forum is the appropriate tool for technical discussions.
3/ Somehow related to 2/: facepunch should give a shit about this thread.
It's clear that the good will was there to have a forum. But the project is not finished. And, IMO, because of 1/ they choose a bad/resource-intensive approach, that cannot deliver (from what I observed until now).
I don't know if this was mentioned, but the number of views is written as if the post could be seen by only a small portion of the person, or as if someone peeked in. It's a bit confusing)
Don't make links inside of the response field clickable. I wrote a whole response and then accidently clicked a link i had typed while trying to fix some formatting and lost the entire post. 🤬
Also, i really dislike when the site "updates" it breaks navigating from the page you're already on, the URL will update, but it won't actually navigate to the page/update the viewport.
