Berm Rises
1.0.0
22 July 2026
🎁 Added
  • World Builder is now Berm. Same game, same one-person shop, new name that fits the dirt-moving spirit better. Everything you built is safe: saves, achievements, and friend codes all carry over. The version jumped from 0.7.0 straight to 1.0.0 on purpose.
  • Berm has a voice now. This is the first real sound pass, with more than 30 hand-mixed effects across moving, tooling, building, and the little world moments in between, plus ambience once you are actually in a world. Menus and the editor stay quiet on purpose. Background music ships off by default, and you can turn it on any time in Options.
  • Live terrain in co-op. When the host reshapes the land, everyone else sees it happen as it happens instead of waiting for the next sync.
  • Photo mode. Drop into freecam, frame the shot, and pull focus with a real depth-of-field panel. Right-drag zooms the lens, and your composition sticks around between sessions.
  • Weather you can set. Clear, Cloudy, or Rain, switched right from Options (the host makes the call in co-op).
  • A living sky. A real sun disc now tracks across the day, with procedural clouds rolling overhead.
  • Effects on everything. Jetpack smoke puffs, rocket-boot heel trails, dust kicking up under your steps, and a little sparkle on every brush op.
  • A brand-new landing screen. A proper title band, a jump-back-in rail for your recent worlds, and an inline friend-code slot to hop straight into a friend's build.
  • Rocket boots that look the part. The boots wear real footwear now instead of a bare effect.
  • Graphics settings. A new Graphics tab lets you match the visuals to your machine, and it remembers your pick.
  • A first peek at what's next. The build radial carries a greyed COMING SOON Bore wedge, an early look at tunneling and caves landing in a later dig.
🧼 Improved
  • Options got simpler. Four clean tabs now, and paint color moved onto the marker where it belongs.
  • The create flow reads better. Pick the feel of your world, then just the size. Terrain style is promoted up front with art-style glyphs that show you what you are picking.
  • New players start gentler. Look sensitivity defaults to a calmer 0.7x for both mouse and controller.
  • Freecam respects your settings. Photo sensitivity now follows your look setting, with its own slider, plus a lens-zoom slider that resets clean.
  • Cleaner menus throughout. Every submenu closes with a single top-right X, danger buttons went borderless, and the Browse Worlds panel dropped its double frames.
  • Recents cards went borderless for a calmer landing screen.
  • The world map is smarter while it loads. The tiles minimap shows every cell with a loading spinner as a big world streams in, and small 2x2 worlds scale up to fill the card.
  • Smoother terrain generation. Freshly grown tiles blend their climate into the neighbours instead of hard-edging at the seam.
  • Gentler streaming. Trees and props fade into place as you travel instead of popping in.
🪛 Fixed
  • The third-person camera no longer wobbles when you stand near tall terrain.
  • Clouds lost an ugly diamond-plate artifact.
  • Guest edits and prop placement route reliably in co-op instead of occasionally dropping.
  • Guests get proper credit for achievements they earn in a friend's world.
  • The guest join screen sits centered again.
  • Landing-screen controller hints only show up when you are actually on a controller.
  • Growing a new tile mid-action no longer collides with the world regenerating.
  • The key legend description renders in the right spot, and the Waterworks achievement text finally says what it actually does.
🚯 Removed
  • The separate Paint tab is gone. Paint color lives on the marker now, so there is one less place to hunt for it.
⚠️ Known Issues
  • Live co-op sculpting is brand new. If a co-op session ever looks out of sync, rejoining resyncs everything.
