Whether you stumbled upon this arena by accident or were looking for some multiplayer chaos, I am thrilled to finally open the doors to Release 1.0.0. Here is a breakdown of what this game is all about, why I built it, and where we are heading next.

At its heart, this is a pure multiplayer survival experience where the environment is your biggest enemy:

  • The Floor is Lava: The arena is constantly filling with rising lava. You need to keep climbing, or you'll take heavy damage over time.

  • Watch Your Head: Random physical props of all shapes and sizes will rain down from the sky. The longer you survive, the more frantic the falling debris becomes.

  • Last One Standing: It's you against the environment (and your friends). Dodge the props, avoid the lava, and be the last one alive to claim victory!

On a personal note, I am currently studying for my Master's degree in IT Systems Architecture in Belgium. For me, developing on s&box isn't just about making a fun sandbox game; it's an incredible learning playground.

When I learn new things, I really love to dig deep and understand exactly how they work under the hood. I didn't just want to piece together pre-made scripts. Building the multiplayer netcode, handling server-client synchronization, and managing physics states from scratch is exactly the kind of technical challenge I enjoy. This game is my way of putting complex system architecture into a chaotic, playable arena!

This 1.0 release is just the foundation. Now that the core survival loop and the multiplayer architecture are in place, my focus will shift entirely to expanding the fun. In the upcoming updates, you can expect:

  • Dynamic Power-Ups: Special bonuses to give you a temporary edge (Speed, Jumping, Scaling, etc.).

  • More Prop Variety: Crazier objects with unique physical properties dropping into the arena.

  • New Maps & Layouts: Different arenas to test your survival skills.

  • Quality of Life: Continuous improvements to the UI, the spectator mode, and the overall balance.

Thank you so much for playing the very first version of this project. If you find bugs or have ideas for crazy items you want to see fall from the sky, let me know.

Have fun, watch your step, and don't forget to leave a review if you enjoy the chaos! ⭐
