GEIGER 0.0.3: Nothing Left Behind

A reliability update: contaminated items can no longer be lost for good, and the lead drum now sends up a green plume when it seals something.

GEIGER 0.0.3 is a short one. It fixes the thing that could end a shift for the wrong reason, and adds a little theatre to the part of the job you do most.

Nothing left behind

Every floor hides a handful of contaminated items, and the lift stays locked until each one is sealed in the lead drum. Occasionally one of them ended up somewhere it could not be reached: under the floor, inside a wall or boxed in by furniture. The lift stayed locked and the floor could not be finished.

Floors now check every contaminated item once they are built, and anything that has ended up out of reach is moved to a clear spot before you arrive. If an item falls through the world or gets stuck in solid geometry while you play, it is put back where it last rested. The manifest does not change, and a floor you have seen before is still the same floor.

The lead drum

Sealing an item in the drum now sends up a billowing green plume and a spray of sparks. The room flashes green for a moment, SEALED is stamped above the drum, and a gas hiss goes with it. A stronger source makes a bigger burst.

Smaller fixes

  • Unloading a pack of worthless pieces at the crate now says NOT WORTH A THING instead of blaming the lobby.
  • The cash that flutters out of the crate no longer glows with the crate's item outline.
  • The main menu bulletin shows the newest published update when it is newer than the latest news post.

If a contaminated item still goes missing, tell me the floor and where you last saw it.

Stay below 100%.
