I added some new things with this patch, and revamped some old things. The time bubble was basically a completely "Halo 3 inspired" bubble shield look, and it's been changed to represent a more "black hole bubble" instead. Distorts lighting, ripples when shots enter, slows down everything inside (grenade detonation timers included). It also now floats in a linear path when thrown, instead of lobbed like a grenade, and got it's own held model as well.
I also revamped the lobby, yet again. Your player character will be front and center locally, with the other players loaded in on the pedestals behind you. This means that on your screen you are front and center, but on "Player B" screen, they are front and center instead. Gives the players a real sense of power, yknow?
Your loadout also shows up as a hologram next to your character, as well as next to the other players in the back. Depending on your screen size, could be hard to read. Will do another pass I'm sure.
I am also working on revamping the entire lobby screen as a whole again. I just can't seem to get it right. Its either too prototype-y looking, "Too much information with not enough information" on it, or cluttered as all hell. One of these days I will find a nice balance. For now, it's simply just coming along.
Added a turret as well. Turret can stick to walls, rotates in a sentry mode front facing looking for enemy player targets, has a laser beam matching the color of the player that deployed it, and can shoot in a 120 degree angle giving the players opportunity to flank it and destroy it.
The guided tutorial will be undergoing a revamp. It will be turning into a practice range with buttons that show a gif of what the relative weapon or utility does, and how to use it, along with an associated voice line. This should encourage players to try out the new items instead of going through the entire tutorial, or players who don't want to learn what the laser pistol or grenade does in order to try out the time bubble or portal gun.
Thank you for playing After Hours, and I hope to see you in the arena.
