It counts every fish you land with that rod (plus Rare-or-better catches and your biggest one), shows the count on the rod itself in the world, and travels with the rod on the Marketplace. Trade-Ups leave tracked rods alone.

[2026-08-27] NPCs now greet you differently depending on the weather, time of day, what's in your hold and how often you've dropped by, and every one has a small talk option with fresh lines each click. Their speech now types out letter by letter; click the bubble to skip.
[2026-08-27] Sunset and sunrise now follow the actual sun instead of the clock: the sky glows orange at the horizon while the top stays blue, twilight fades through purple into night, and the water no longer reflects an orange sky while the moon is already up
