Media Speaker
An audio-only speaker for Sandbox that everyone on the server listens to together, in sync, with a live spectrum display. Put on music, a radio stream or any audio link.
Features
- Plays YouTube, SoundCloud and other audio links, plus radio and live streams and plain audio files (mp3 and more).
- Paste a link to play it right away, or add it to the queue. A Recent list brings back earlier links.
- Seek, pause, skip and set the volume.
- Live spectrum bars on the speaker's display, driven by the audio that is playing.
- Switch between 3D positional audio and flat 2D audio.
- Physics object: grab it with the physgun and resize it with the tool gun. A bigger speaker is heard from further away.
- Works with a controller.
How to use
- Press Q, open Entities -> Fun (or search "Media") and spawn Media Speaker.
- Look at it and press E to open the remote.
- Paste a link and press Play now or Queue. Press E or the X to close the remote.
- Walk away to hear it fade out in 3D, or switch it to 2D to hear it everywhere.
Anyone can play, pause and queue, and everyone hears the same thing in sync.
