Goal:
Give players a reason to keep coming back after a few runs.

Phase 3 — Threat & Boss Update


Goal:
Make runs more varied and memorable.


Add new threat types

  • Jammer
    •  disrupts radar visibility briefly 
  • Shielded missile
    •  first hit breaks armor, second hit kills 
  • Swarm cluster
    •  splits into many weak targets 
  • Hunter
    •  speeds up when closer to center 
  • Leech
    •  drains points if not destroyed quickly 

Boss update

  •  Unique boss classes instead of just stat scaling 
    •  Carrier Boss spawns escorts constantly 
    •  Blink Boss teleports aggressively 
    •  Siege Boss moves slower but deals huge damage 
    •  Decoy Boss mixes fake support targets into the wave 
  •  Boss phase changes at low health 
  •  Sector warning intros before boss arrival

Phase 4 — Game Modes Update


Goal:
Turn one good mode into several strong replay modes.


Modes

  • Classic
    •  standard balanced run 
  • Overclocked
    •  permanently faster version with higher rewards 
  • Endless
    •  survive until death 
  • Daily Sector
    •  seeded challenge run for leaderboard competition 
  • Iron Command
    •  no revives, harsher setbacks, higher score multipliers 
  • Chaos Mode
    •  randomized mutators every few sectors 

Mutators

  •  low visibility 
  •  double boss escorts 
  •  no freeze drops 
  •  decoys spawn more often 
  •  combo timer reduced 
  •  smart bombs disabled

Phase 5 — Versus Overclock Update


Goal:
Add a competitive mode that reuses the core gameplay loop without needing full direct PvP combat, while also expanding cosmetic customization.


Add

  • 1v1 Versus Mode
    •  each player defends their own radar field 
    •  both players play at the same time 
    •  pressure is sent to the opponent through performance 
  • Attack-based pressure system
    •  kill streaks send extra threats 
    •  boss kills send escort waves 
    •  overclock play sends decoys 
    •  faster wave clears trigger small penalty events 
  • Versus balancing rules
    •  attack pressure must be readable and fair 
    •  pressure should escalate without instantly snowballing 
    •  defensive playstyles and aggressive playstyles should both be viable 
  • Versus score layer
    •  winner decided by survival, sector reached, or score if both last to the end 
    •  post-match stat comparison 
    •  best-versus-win tracking 
  • Radar theme customization
    •  add a new radar skin/background
    •  allow players to choose which radar background/theme they want to use 
    •  make radar themes a cosmetic option similar to base skins 
    •  optionally tie some radar themes to milestones, PvP wins, or sector progression 
  • Minimal new content to support the mode
    •  1 new boss archetype or pressure event 
    •  2–4 new perks balanced for versus 
    •  a few new cosmetics or rewards tied to PvP milestones 
  • Presentation support
    •  versus UI elements 
    •  opponent status display 
    •  warning indicators when incoming pressure is sent by the enemy 
    •  match intro / victory / defeat screens
