Once you have completed the tutorial (which you can now skip via the phone), you are able to hire helpers & managers to assist you with running your restaurant. You can do this from the new Player application on the phone. Helpers & managers are then able to interact with appliances, cook meals, and serve customers within the restaurant. Currently the manager has extra permissions to handle the open/closing of the restaurant. But I intend to give them the ability to order stock in the future.
The first of many new appliances is the Fryer! Additionally there are now two new meals, French and Curly Fries. The Fryer can be purchased through Build Mode. Once the Fryer is placed in your restaurant, you will be able to purchase lard, which you can use to fill the fryer with fat by simply placing the lard in the fryer. The lard will melt and fill the fryer with oil.
You can place fryable objects into the fat to start cooking them. Frying baskets can also be purchased from the shop which allow you store and batch cook multiple ingredients at once, saving time and space!
Baskets can also be hooked onto the back of the fryer, when you need somewhere to store them!
You can now choose the meals that customers may choose from when ordering. This can be done from the manage restaurant app on your phone. Meals and their ingredients can only be purchased when they are on your menu.
If you don't meet the requirement to serve the meal, you will be shown a warning, and customers won't order it until it is resolved. In the example below, I don't meet the requirement as I am missing a fryer. The recipe app is now online, allowing you to view the ingredients for recipes and track your progress through the UI.
Build mode has been overhauled, and the grid resolution has been increased 4x! This gives builders a much greater amount of freedom to place their furniture and make the restaurant exactly how they want it.
In addition to this, the build mode has had some UI changes.
