GAME IS MEANT TO BE PLAYED WITH REAL PEOPLE! You get bonus Coins and Stakes multiply! Bots are NOT the way it's meant to be played.
Bots are only there when there are not at least 2 other players.
Up to 8 players, it is considerably more fun this way.
*Custom Models* - The Main Character "The Host",
*Custom Animations* - painstakingly created by hand in blender.
*Custom Weapon Model*
*Custom Visual FX made within the engine*
*The entire concept and Game-flow came from me, not AI*Rules:
Trust No-one.
Up to 8 players online. One bullet each!
Everyone gets a shot!
Resist the Drink and risk instant Self-annihilation? Or get hammered and cock YOUR hammer?!
Mechanics:
- Spend your Bank money to buy Perks or Sabotage other players.
- Every round you survive, all your Coins in Play get added to the Bank.
- Kill another player, steal their money.
- If you die by your own gun, your money gets randomly gifted to another player.
- When any player buys a Sabotage, everyone hears the sound, but nobody knows the Victim!
- The "Loaded" Sabotage will NOT update the Victim's Bullet odds. They remain blind.
- Upgrade Perks to resist the insanity!
- Late-joining players can spend their running Bank total to Sabotage others via the "Loaded" ability! If a player dies by THAT bullet, ALL their money is burned along with their hell-bound soul! X_X
- A player's Icon on the Right will update with their Level of Drunk (1-6)
- Your Starting Coins in Play MULTIPLES if you are playing with Real People instead of Bots.
Everyone starts with 1 bullet. Make it count.
Perks:
1. Heavyweight - 2% chance taking a shot does not increase Drunk level
2. Deadeye - Lower reticle size 2% across all Drunk levels
3. Smooth Sailor - Reduce reticle drift 1% across all Drunk levels
4. Ironman - 1% Chance that a bullet does 0 damage
Sabotage:
1. Loaded - Pick another player from a list of all the players. Place 1 extra bullet in another player's gun.
2. Spike Drink - The next drink the target player takes temporarily adds 1 extra Drunk level to them (which goes away once the player's turn ends).
3. Peer Pressure - Reduce the target player's next Turn time by 20%.
---If people have fun with this, there's a ton of stuff I'd like to add, so please leave a review or suggestions---
(New PC Developer)
S&box is the whole reason i wanted to learn Code, modelling, Animating, and everything related to PC Game-Dev! Thank you Garry! You've honestly changed my life by igniting this new passion!
Responses to Reviews:
1. "Upgrades are Miniscule!" - Not exactly. If you play with real people and not bots, you generate a lot more Coins for your bank. And, it is also a party game to be played with other real people. This is not an MMORPG. I do not want people to become Overpowered and run over the new players. Everybody should have a fair shot at a fair game.
2. "why we’re shooting ourself when we don't have to " - Never heard of Russian Roulette? That's how it's played but this game has a twist and adds some Risk Vs Reward by letting you target other players under the condition that you drink first.
3. "Too bad you used gen-ai, it rly looks ugly. Don't use this shit again.
You're so fucking weird. You're a perfect fit for s&box community" - 🤣 i appreciate that! I will change it. I guess I should just learn another tool (photoshop?). Thanks!
4. "Lacks general polish, the UI is a bit all over the place, the game mechanics are poorly taught to the player, and the general concept needs some work. " - Thank you! I polished many animations and visual FX, but yes I should not have assumed Russian Roulette was ubiquitous. And this is the last time I will be using AI for game UI. I appreciate that.
A quick word from our S&box Dev:
Game got GameJam Review bombed! I thought S&box would have a welcoming community of supportive Devs.
In the Discord you see people trashing other's games, trashing Blender users, C'mon Guys & Gals... Toxicity and intolerance kills communities like this.
I put real work in to all my projects to try and make them fun. (Is this game really worse than an Idle Clicker?)
But, As long as there are thousands of dollars at stake, this is going to happen. I just wanted to make fun games and be a part of a community making fun games together. Hopefully the AI-Hating extremists will learn to make exceptions for minor things like Icons or Loading screens.
(P.S. - I'm not some greedy corporation or a Team making another Voxel Game, I am a Solo Developer who spends many hours refining his projects.)
S&box was made for newbies of the industry. We are one of the key Demographic pillars.
If you want to leave a negative review on a Solo dev simply because of the Icons then you're part of a Larger problem within the community
So we get games where guys draw icons in MSPaint because they are afraid of being bullied by the community.
If this community is going to be hostile toward new developers, it will be the ongoing downfall of this community. I have seen great games player-bases die off because of how poorly people treat each other.
How entitled is it to be a member of a Team of 4 or 5 people and then turn on the Solo developer who is having to learn how to do everything on his own? Custom models, Custom Animations, etc. etc.
