Hope this game will end up becoming a massive success. You guys clearly showed what you were doing with rust, so I have a lot of faith in that it will. I do think that with these sorts of games, accessibility/having a large community is everything.
Roblox is very popular for all the script kiddies because it's got Lua. Since there's enough people playing the game, the community also naturally started developing tools to make life easier for more adept devs. The best of both worlds, pretty much.
However, I personally believe Lua lacks a lot of basic features a programming/scripting language should have, but scripting languages like python or even a self-made scripting lang could fit the role of being beginner-friendly. This, without being a tedious language to use for higher-level programmers, or shielding off "advanced" concepts from beginners completely. This is the philosophy Godot adopted with GDscript.
