Since s&box launch we've been working on a bigger SS2 update with a progression system, perk unlocking, loadout items, new and rebalanced perks, and hopefully new levels and enemies.

So that will come eventually, and this post will cover a few changes that have been made in the meantime.

Changes have also been listed in the SS2 discord thread. Feel free to share bugs/feedback/suggestions there or in the SS2 forum.

Now when you die, instead of just disappearing into a ghost, there's some blood and your body will ragdoll depending on what killed you.

 
I saw a streamer who was hurting themself with their own landmines, and they happily chose a "reduce self-dmg" perk, because they rightfully assumed that explosions from their own landmines hurting themself counted as self-dmg.

Previously self-dmg was a damage type, so something couldn't be both explosion damage and self damage. Now any type of damage can additionally be flagged as self-dmg, so hurting yourself with your own explosions/fire/lightning/poison/etc will behave as expected.

Nevermind, reverted this change. Self-dmg doesn't count as a hit, so having damage sources that do count as hits (like explosions) also sometimes be self-dmg made things complicated.
When playing multiplayer with high ping, you may have been damaged by enemies or projectiles that didn't look like they were touching you. That's because previously (before ~1 week ago), the host version of the enemies/projectiles told you when they touched you.

Now, you tell the host when you're touching the enemies/projectiles, so there should be less of a feeling that you're unfairly being hurt.

You can also see your ping in the Stats panel (press Tab) when you're a client.
