About Gary Max

Gary Max is my S&box workshop space for games, maps, materials, and tools I make while learning and building projects. I’m focused on grounded, replayable experiences with strong atmosphere, clean design, and practical content that other creators can actually use.

Right now I’m working on a few different projects, including original game ideas, mapping experiments, and asset packs made from things I needed during development. A lot of what I upload comes from solving problems in my own workflow, then sharing the results so other people do not have to start from scratch.

Current focus

My main focus right now is learning Hammer, building better environments, and developing more polished S&box projects. I’m especially interested in atmosphere, environmental storytelling, and games that feel simple to understand but still have a strong identity.

Workshop content

Most assets I publish are made for practical use in real maps. The goal is not to flood the workshop, but to upload things that are useful, clean, and easy to build with.
Most materials and assets here are made from actual project needs, then published so other creators can use them too.
