SBH Sandbox is Facepunch's Sandbox extended with SBHBase, a full nextbot framework for s&box — think DRGBase, rebuilt for Source 2.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Spawn NPCs with real AI: navmesh chasing, faction system, damage aggro, herd separation, and melee with frame-accurate timing.
• Every creature moves like it should: random attack variety, real run animations, ballistic jumps with landing animations, and surface footsteps — giants shake your screen with every step.
• Get executed in style: cinematic jumpscare kills with the camera riding the killer's own animation, GMod nextbot style.
• Possess any nextbot with the mouse wheel and play as it — orbital camera, WASD, Shift to run, jumping and lock-on attacks. Your body stays parked and untouchable until you return.
• Command squads: sweep the screen with G to assign bots to squads 1-4, each with its own coloured marker.
• Fuse creatures: drop ingredients together with the physgun and turn them into something new. Build your own recipes in-game with drag & drop.
• Freeze a single bot in your crosshair, shut down all AI with one key, or flip the Omniscient switch and let every NPC hunt you through walls.
ANIM EVENTS — A LIVE ANIMATION EDITOR, IN-GAME
Open the C menu, pick any live NPC, and direct it like a film editor:
• Paint events on a timeline while the bot acts them out: melee hits, impact sounds, footsteps, custom sounds, and particle effects attached to any bone.
• Multiple layers, drag & drop, scrubbing, slow-motion preview from 0.1× to 4×.
• Tune each character live: head tracking on/off, jump force, run speed, stride, and per-animation speed — type a number and it sticks forever.
TOOLBOX (SBHB ToolGun)
• Group Spawner — spawn entire formations: grids, circles, noise, facing, freeze and squad assignment in one click.
• SBH Bonemerge — dress any NPC with props through shared skeletons.
• SBH Bodygroups — switch skins and bodygroups live.
• SBH Bones — pose individual bones with sliders.
• SBH Possess — take control of a nextbot.
PHOTO MODE
Graduated zoom, clean screen with no HUD, and one-key screenshots — built for making thumbnails and posters.
Everything is built on a reusable base, so new creature packs plug straight in — and everything you tune travels with them.
