Achievement notice - an "Achievement unlocked" popup appears in game when you earn one
Sleeper looting - sleeping players can now be looted
Loading screen - the Legacy loading screen (gray background, "loading" and the current step) covers the time between joining and standing on the island
Achievements list - new "achievements" entry in the pause menu with score and progress bars
Discord - Discord icon at the bottom right of the pause menu opens the community server
Crosshair option - new "Show Crosshair" toggle in the pause menu options, off by default
Equipment kits - admins can give equipment kits to players
Sleeper actions - admin actions are available on sleepers and a player's inventory can be browsed from the players panel
Performance report - the rl_perf console command prints frame and GPU times and what the world currently holds
Controller support - full gamepad play: sticks to move and look, A jump, B crouch, X reload / rotate, Y use (hold for the action menu), RT fire, LT aim, LB / RB belt, Back inventory, Start pause, d-pad torch / laser / voice
Controller sprint - clicking the left stick toggles sprint, it stops when you stop pushing forward
Controller menus - the d-pad jumps the cursor between cells and buttons, A clicks and drags, B goes back; in the inventory X quick-transfers and Y opens the item menu
Door keypad - code doors show an on-screen keypad when playing with a controller
Graphics options - new graphics section in the pause menu with the Legacy options: render distance, grass, bloom, ambient occlusion and sun shafts, also in the console as in Legacy (render.distance, grass.on, gfx.bloom, gfx.ssao)
Render distance - as in Legacy, rocks beyond the render distance (800 m by default, up to 1600 m) are no longer drawn, and animals follow the same distance
Morning mist - optional, off by default: thicker fog from sunrise until 9 am
Legacy color grading - optional, off by default: darker, olive colors matched on the original 2013 "First Day" trailer
Grass rebuild - grass is rebuilt once per area when buildings appear instead of once per piece, smoother when joining a server with many bases
Building placement - placing structures stays smooth next to large bases (the placement check is about 50 times cheaper with 100 bases around)
Wildlife performance - animals far from every player are simulated more cheaply, and are no longer animated or drawn beyond the render distance, without changing how they behave near players
Holo sight - the red reticle is now always bright red and thin, whatever you aim at, instead of darkening or changing color on some surfaces
Laser sight - the laser starts under the barrel, never draws in front of the weapon model, follows the weapon through recoil, reload and fast movements, and is corrected so it meets the crosshair when aiming
Laser visibility - much easier to see in daylight, with a larger impact dot in first and third person and a wider beam in third person
Build hint - the placement hint reads "Left click: place · R: rotate" again instead of "Left clickR: rotate"
Menu sounds - the s&box menus (graphics and display settings, popups) play their sounds again
Belt buttons - the previous / next item bindings (mouse side buttons, bumpers) now change the belt slot
Controller crouch - pressing B no longer opens the pause menu
Grass regrowth - grass grows back where a foundation, building piece or placed object was destroyed
Craft button - when the server has the crafting queue off (default, as in Legacy), the button stays "Craft" and greyed out while something is crafting, instead of offering "Queue" and answering "Already crafting"
Effects while loading - impact, gathering and explosion effects no longer throw errors on a client that is still loading or leaving the server
Controller chat - the chat cannot be opened with a controller (no on-screen keyboard)
