Raid warning - when a bot raider heads for your base with explosives, its owners and door guests get a private RAID alert in chat with an alarm
Door alerts - owners are told when a door of their base is destroyed, and by which bot
New base protection - a new player base can't be raided by bots for its first 3 hours of play; the timer only runs while an owner or a guest is online, and the chat says when it ends
Chat mentions - @name pings that player and highlights the line
Chat emojis - emoticons and :codes: turn into emojis
Server browser - servers show their AI survivors apart from players
Bot numbers - each bot has a number in the BOTS list, the detail panel and its beacon, and the search finds it
Chat - a colour per player name, admins highlighted, history scrollable with the wheel or PageUp/PageDown, click a line to copy it, character counter near the limit
Bot beacons - drawn under the inventory and hotbar
Survivor names - every survivor has a unique name, with many more names per kit
Survivor range - survivors appear and disappear farther from players (500 m instead of 300 m)
Respawn - you no longer respawn right next to a survivor
Survivor economy - AI survivors now live like players: they carry a real inventory, gather ore rocks and wood with real tools that wear out, loot crates, sacks, corpses and airdrops, craft with real blueprints and durations (at their own workbench when the recipe needs one), and drop their real gear when they die
Survivor careers - each survivor follows a career ladder (tools, weapon, ammo, armor, a base, explosive charges) and picks its next goal from what it needs
Survivor bases - survivors build a hut with real pieces and real costs, store what they don't need in their own box, fetch what they need, craft at their bench, respawn at their base and walk through their doors; huts differ from one survivor to the next (1 to 3 rooms, wings, towers with stairs, barred windows)
Survivor raids - survivors raid bases with real explosive charges: they break an exterior door first, step back, blast through the opening, loot and go home. Bot bases can be raided any time, player bases only while their owner or a door guest is online
Persistent survivors - survivor identities are saved in the world save, so the same survivors come back after a restart; their bodies only exist near players and the rest of the world is simulated cheaply (rl_bot_offline_rate)
Offline pause - when nobody is connected the survivors stop living
Legacy spawns - crates and mutants use the Legacy server spawn points, and wildlife and resource nodes come from the 30 Legacy wildlife spawner pockets
Server settings - rl_mob_scale and rl_wildlife_scale scale the number of mutants and animals
Bots tab - the BOTS tab is rebuilt: list sorted by live distance, detail panel, a world overlay with beacons, LABELS and BEAMS kept per player
Follow - FOLLOW a bot, a player or a sleeper with the camera
Bot AI debug view - see what a survivor is doing and why
rl_play_bots - status of survivors, bases and raids from the console; rl_bot_build and rl_bot_raid to test them
Survivors on the road - more survivors travel the island, run on long trips, and about a quarter of them camp at their base; unarmed survivors flee, others fight and hunt
Survivor spawns - a survivor never spawns right next to a player, and spawn points with a living survivor are skipped when another is free
Fly mode - no longer drifts down while flying
Admin toggles - saved per player
Activity log - sleeper kills are logged on the server
Hosting guide - every server setting, startup option and console command is documented
Inventory UI and activity log refreshed, radiation zones tweaked
Crash when the scene model doesn't exist yet - fixed a NullReferenceException in body and animal sequences
Career progress - no longer throws
Offline starvation - a disconnected player's body is removed and life stats are kept across sessions, so you no longer starve while logged out
Damage without inventory - fixed a NullReferenceException in TakeDamage when the inventory component is missing
Official servers - Rust Legacy EU #1 and Rust Legacy EU #2 - SANDBOX
Logs - Added server logs when dying, killing a player or a sleeper
Files size - Reduced download by 100mb by removing raw sound files
Queue - Menu is hidden if queue is disabled
Craft - Adjust position of bottom part to avoid being outside
Loot sacks from broken storage - when a box, furnace, campfire, workbench or any object holding items is destroyed, whether by damage, decay or the collapse of the foundation or ceiling under it, everything it held falls into a loot sack on the ground below (Legacy simply lost those items)
Raiding - foundations, pillars and ceilings can now be destroyed with explosive charges like walls and doors (they were immune in Legacy)
Explosive charges - the damage now follows the Legacy formula: the piece or door the charge is stuck to takes the full blast, nearby pieces take less the further they are, and much less behind cover; a charge stuck on another charge hits the same target, so stacked charges add up
Decay - like Legacy, pillars, ceilings and foundations that hold something up no longer decay, walls closed in on both sides decay five times slower, and a raider's charge no longer resets the decay of the building it is stuck to
Pillars - pillars no longer turn with the placement rotation, so stacked pillars line up perfectly
Explosions - explosive charges use the Legacy explosion: debris, flash, smoke, sparks and light, the original blast sound fading with distance like Legacy's, and the 1 second tick heard from 3 to 20 m
Sea - the sea uses a Legacy-style water look with foam and small waves, its colour following the sky and the time of day
Distance fade - rocks and animals now dissolve smoothly at the edge of the render distance instead of popping in and out
Terrain shadows - the terrain now casts shadows, like Legacy's
Garage doors - garage doors slide straight up and the shutter no longer sticks out above the building
Hostile survivors - servers now start with 10 armed AI survivors so new players have something to fight (rl_bots 0 turns them off)
Wildlife performance - removed the small hitch every half second caused by animals far away searching for a path
Fly mode - flying is now handled by the server: you no longer drop when no key is held, take no fall damage when you land, and are saved on the ground below you; Heal also clears radiation
Sea - like Legacy, walking into the sea kills you instead of letting you swim around the island
Fall damage - no more fall damage in god mode or while flying
Chat - messages stay on screen longer (16 seconds) and a "player left" line no longer stays stuck forever
Hosting guide - the Linux run-server.sh text no longer changes when switching between pages of the guide
Fires - fixed an error on some campfires and furnaces
Hostile survivors - an optional server setting (rl_bots, off by default as Legacy had none) fills the island with armed AI survivors in Legacy outfits; each carries a random Legacy gun (pipe shotgun, revolver, 9mm, shotgun, MP5, bolt action or M4), roams towards buildings, opens fire when it spots you, strafes, chases, retreats when badly hurt and drops a bag with its weapon, ammo and some of its armor
Hostile survivor behaviour - they reload and patch up behind cover, hear gunshots and come to check, see less far at night unless you carry a light and less far when you crouch, and give up a chase when you get far enough away, stay out of sight, drag them too far from their area or nobody lands a hit for a minute
Hostile survivors at rest - when nothing is going on they sometimes stop to chop a tree or mine a rock for a while
Hostile survivor settings - rl_bot_accuracy sets how well they shoot (0 to 1) and rl_bot_respawn how long before a killed one is replaced
BOTS tab - pick FAKE PLAYERS or HOSTILE BOTS at the top: each mode has its own settings and list, no more scrolling; hostile bots can be spawned 1, 3 or 5 at a time with a random or chosen kit, and the island population and their aim are set from there
Rad town mobs - each radiation zone holds the Legacy mutant packs (2 mutant bears and 2 mutant wolves, 3 and 3 in the big towns) plus a few zombies, spawning in the town itself within 40 m of its centre instead of anywhere in the zone, and coming back one at a time
Wildlife - more animals on the island, and half of them now appear within a few minutes' walk of the players; calm animals nobody came near for a long time move closer to where people are
Spawn spots - animals, zombies and mutants no longer appear under rock overhangs, inside hollow cliffs or under buildings
Bullet tracers - tracers are now the exact Rust Legacy ones: the original thin glowing streak with its white core and orange edges, a random length, leaving from your eye for your own shots and from the muzzle for other players and bots, and no impact effect for bullets landing more than 75 m from you
Loot rooms - crates now spawn at fixed places inside the buildings (apartments, warehouses, garages, hangars, guard towers, every floor), mostly against the walls, and a looted spot gets a new crate 2 to 5 minutes later like in Legacy, instead of appearing at random around the buildings
Broken weapons and tools - holding a broken item now looks empty-handed in third person, like Legacy, instead of playing the item's animations with an invisible item
MP5A4 iron sights - aiming with the MP5 now looks along the sights with the front post centered, instead of through the back of the stock
Doors - the doors and garage doors of the guard towers, warehouses, garages and apartment buildings open like the Rad Town ones; 20 of them were stuck closed or missing; the big garage doors now roll up and slide back under the ceiling like Legacy's instead of swinging like a hinged door
Broken and worn items - like in Legacy, the icon of a broken item turns red and the icon of an item at 40% of its condition or less turns yellow
Host lobby - the name, player slots and privacy chosen in the HOST LOBBY menu are no longer replaced by the settings of the s&box launch popup
Original zombies - zombies now use the real Rust Legacy zombie from the December 2013 build: its model, bloody texture, ragdoll and animations (hunched idle, limping walk when roaming, sprint when chasing, two random swipes), a bit taller than a player
Zombie sounds - the original zombie groans, chase calls, alert cries, attack screams, punch impacts and death sounds, heard from up close like in Legacy
Zombie attacks - each swipe takes 1.5 seconds and lands halfway through the animation, so stepping back in time dodges it
Fake players - a new BOTS tab in the admin menu places posed survivors for videos and screenshots: pick a name, an outfit (naked to rad suit), an item in hand (rocks, tools, a lit torch, bows and guns) and a pose (standing, crouched, swinging a melee tool, sleeping), then turn, move, heal or remove them; they show a name tag like real players, take damage through their armor and fall as a ragdoll when killed
Suicide - the SUICIDE button of the admin menu closes the menu and shows the death screen, instead of leaving the game stuck behind the menu
Time of day slider - dragging the World tab slider now follows the mouse exactly
Aiming down sights - holding the aim for a long time while moving the mouse no longer makes the weapon drift and jump to a wrong position; the sight stays lined up with the eye
Steam Deck and narrow screens - the inventory, crafting and loot windows no longer run off the right side of the screen on the Steam Deck, 16:10 or 4:3 screens; the interface shrinks just enough to fit
Chat - the last message (for example "left the game") no longer stays stuck on screen after it should have faded out
Main menu - the game now opens on the Legacy main menu (play game, host lobby, options, achievements, exit), in front of the Legacy menu scene: the garage, the burning barrel and the resting bear
Server browser - play game opens the Legacy server browser: servers, lobbies and history tabs, sortable server name / players / ping columns, favourites, pages and join server
Host lobby - start the island on your own computer with a name, a player limit (1 to 64) and a visibility (public, friends, private); friends join from their server browser or through your Steam profile
Dedicated servers - anyone can run a Rust Legacy server that keeps the world going with nobody online; every setting is a console variable (`rl_pvp`, `rl_sleepers`, `rl_decay`, `rl_gather_rate`, `rl_day_length`...)
Server hosting guide - an in-game guide (link at the bottom of the servers tab) covers installing the server, the launch line, settings, admins, the world save and joining
Server admins - server owners list their admins in config/users.json ("admin" claim); admins get the admin menu and the Legacy admin commands (inv.give, teleport.topos, env.time, airdrop.drop...) in their own console
Server commands - `net.connect <id>` joins a server by id, `net.disconnect` goes back to the menu, `rl_save` saves the world now, `rl_max_players` sets the server slots
Time of day - the World tab has a 24 hour slider set to the minute and -1H / -5M / +5M / +1H buttons, instead of 4 fixed times
Timelapse - freeze the clock or run it x10, x60 or x240 (a full day in 15 seconds); back to normal speed when the server restarts; `rl_timescale` in the host console
Camp fire wood - a new camp fire comes with 5 wood, as in Legacy
Joining - a loading screen shows while connecting to a server
Placement on slopes - placed objects (boxes, fires, furnaces, benches...) follow the slope of the ground as in Legacy instead of staying level
Camp fire and furnace - flames, smoke, sparks and light rebuilt from the original Legacy effects; the ashes glow with Legacy's animated embers, and the smoke and last flames fade out when the fire goes out
Torch - flame and light rebuilt with the Legacy sizes and colors, the light sits where Legacy put it and lights the torch head and your hand
Controller menus - the d-pad reaches every line of the server browser and the start button of the host lobby panel, and opening a menu panel puts the cursor inside it
Admin commands - the Legacy admin commands now work for dedicated server admins, not only for the host
Server on your own network - a dedicated server can be missing from the list on the computer or home network that runs it; join it with `net.connect <id>` (type status in the server console for the id)
Server list - coming back to the menu shows the last list fetched; press refresh to update it
World tab title - the World tab shows "TIME OF DAY" with the clock again, not only the clock
Flying admins - an admin who leaves while flying is saved on the ground below, instead of falling to death when coming back

Door keypad - code doors show an on-screen keypad when playing with a controller
Graphics options - new graphics section in the pause menu with the Legacy options: render distance, grass, bloom, ambient occlusion and sun shafts, also in the console as in Legacy (render.distance, grass.on, gfx.bloom, gfx.ssao)
Render distance - as in Legacy, rocks beyond the render distance (800 m by default, up to 1600 m) are no longer drawn, and animals follow the same distance
Morning mist - optional, off by default: thicker fog from sunrise until 9 am
Legacy color grading - optional, off by default: darker, olive colors matched on the original 2013 "First Day" trailer
Grass rebuild - grass is rebuilt once per area when buildings appear instead of once per piece, smoother when joining a server with many bases
Building placement - placing structures stays smooth next to large bases (the placement check is about 50 times cheaper with 100 bases around)
Wildlife performance - animals far from every player are simulated more cheaply, and are no longer animated or drawn beyond the render distance, without changing how they behave near players
Holo sight - the red reticle is now always bright red and thin, whatever you aim at, instead of darkening or changing color on some surfaces
Laser sight - the laser starts under the barrel, never draws in front of the weapon model, follows the weapon through recoil, reload and fast movements, and is corrected so it meets the crosshair when aiming

Weapon crate model - weapon crates now use the real Legacy WeaponLootBox model instead of a tinted ammo box
Indoor crates - world crates can spawn on the floors of barns, warehouses and hangars, and never overlap walls
Crate lifetime - untouched crates despawn after a while (`rl_crate_lifetime`), but never while a player is nearby or looting them
