Quick update: you may notice the map runs smoother since the last few updates.
It turns out that due to Hammer/Scene editor compatibility issues, most physics props were not correctly “Starting Asleep” and were remaining active from map load, this resulted in notable performance loss and contributed to the lag often experienced at map/round load.
Until the scene editor is fully supported by TTT, I’ve reduced and disabled a number of excess physics props across the map as a temporary optimisation measure.
From testing, this has had a significant impact on both local and server performance.
If you were experiencing performance issues before, it’s worth reloading the map and testing again, things should now run noticeably smoother!
Further optimisation passes (such as TTT weapon spawners and entity cleanup) will also be done in the next update to improve performance on highly populated servers.
