Night is short, and it bites
A day in Terry City is now eight minutes: six of daylight, then two of night. The clock in the
corner still reads like a day, sunrise at six, sunset at eight, and it runs faster after dark.
Night is its own thing now, not just daytime with the lights off:
- The street fights back. People who'd run from you by day are far more likely to square up
after dark. - It pays for it. Cash off anyone you put down is worth 25% more at night. A NIGHT tag
sits next to the clock while it lasts.
You can see at night
- Street lamps light the road. The lamps nearest you throw real light onto the pavement.
- Moonlight. Buildings have a lit side and a shadowed side at night instead of one flat grey,
so you can tell where a street goes and who's standing in it. - The darkest part of the night is a little less dark.
The laundromat grows
- The machines can be upgraded. Four tiers, bought from the bank at the laundry office with
R: $250, $600, $1,200 and $2,500. Each one takes bigger loads, up to six times the size, and
washes them faster, down to six minutes a load. A good night at the casino is now an evening's
laundry, not three hours of it. - Buying the laundromat now costs $250 in cash, up from $40. If you already own one, nothing
changes.
Smoother with more people
- Fewer pedestrians around each player, and people far away from you aren't drawn at all. The
city should run noticeably better, especially with other players on the server.
Fixes
- Slot machines and cash pickups could be heard from anywhere on the map. Now you hear them
where they happen. - Joining at night could leave the map and minimap dark for the whole session. Fixed.
- The pistol could get stuck mid-reload. Fixed.
- The glow under dropped cash, ammo and medkits was cut in half when you stood on it. Fixed.
- The CASINO sign no longer has the building's own trim running through its letters.
- The payouts boards inside the casino are no longer hidden behind the wall lamps.
