This project is made specifically for online play with a large number of people. Playing alone or with just two players will be boring as hell. You can create your own server, and people can join you. The more players, the better.

Zombie Mod [s&box] is my attempt to carefully bring back the classic Zombie Mod/Zombie Plague/Zombie Survival from Counter-Strike: Source and Counter-Strike 1.6 on a new platform. For many people, this mod was not just a server to play on for one evening, but a whole part of their life: late-night matches, defending the last room, panic in voice chat, and always hoping that vending machine would survive a few more seconds.

The mode uses the legendary zm_lila_panic, known to anyone who spent time on zombie servers during the Source era. I tried to recreate the atmosphere and feeling of the original as accurately as possible, now on Source 2 thanks to s&box. Old emotions in a new shell, a rare case where the past does not come back as a subscription service.

The core mechanics of classic Zombie Mod have been carefully recreated: infection by zombie hit, knockback from gunfire, object physics for building barricades, round system, humans fighting to survive, and constant pressure from the infected. Familiar event sounds and zombie sound effects were also brought back, so every round feels like one of those unforgettable rounds from back in 2010.

The main goal of this project is simple: nostalgia. A chance to bring back that same feeling of adrenaline, chaos, and excitement that Zombie Mod gave people in the 2010s. When an обычная map turned into a fortress, and one random player with a knife could cause total hysteria. Humanity was fragile.

🔫For Humans:
At the start of the round, you have 20 seconds to take position. But trust no one. One of the humans is infected and will turn into a zombie when the timer ends. That infected player might be standing right next to you.
-Shoot physical objects to barricade entrances. Couches, vending machines, and other heavy junk work great.
-Stay together. A lone human will not survive against even one zombie. Hero fantasies end fast here.
-Use voice chat to coordinate with your team.
-Your weapons can knock zombies back. Use that wisely and do not forget to reload.
-Your main goal is simple: survive for 5 minutes.

🧟For Zombies:
-Infect a human. Just punch him.

-Use your increased movement speed to quickly catch humans.
-Zombie died? Long live the new zombie. If a zombie dies, you respawn in 2 seconds and get right back into the fight. Keep the pressure on.
-Use your fists to push away human barricades.
