Every new life now spins up its own set of procedural companies, and every job is a role at one of them. So you're no longer just a "Retail Assistant" floating in the void, you're a Retail Assistant at a specific shop, with a specific boss sitting at the top of it.

Speaking of which, every job now has a manager, who you'll find under a new Colleagues group on the Relationships page. They've got their own profile view (which all NPCs do now), and your relationship with them actually matters; promotions are now affected by how your boss feels about you, and work events shift that feeling in both directions.
You can now meet more colleagues through work, and you can report a colleague's mistake to HR, make one of your own, or outshine your boss in a meeting and watch the fallout.

There's also a new event where your boss can catch you applying for a job somewhere else, which is exactly as awkward as it sounds.

The diary entry for a new job now names the company you joined, and the obituary closes things off by noting the company you were last employed by.
On top of the company stuff, jobs got a proper pass this update.

You can now ask for a raise, apply for any job regardless of the requirements, and applications no longer result in instant success, you'll actually have to wait and see.

Promotions now require more time in a role, the further up the ladder you climb, with a 33% yearly chance once you're eligible, and the offer names the exact role you'd be moving into.

A couple of jobs got tweaked too: Retail Assistant slowly develops Persuasion alongside Charisma, and Corporate Product roles now develop Charisma instead of Programming (which never quite made sense).

Four of the five new achievements are job-related, the obituary now notes how many jobs you held throughout your life, and we've added a confirmation when you apply for a job while already employed, to save you from yourself.

Recurring events like a rough day at work also space themselves out now instead of repeating year after year. Manager themed events no longer turn up once you've reached CEO, and the diary correctly reads as "retired" if you quit your job after retirement age. We'll make that last one better eventually.
