Feels great to be able to play what is essentially the same game mechanically as the original without having to convince friends to go through the hassle, but it definitely needs a ton of work still.
Gonna get this "fix" out of the way first cuz I know it is as easy to change as flipping a switch and brother it is a HUGE deal:
CHANGE!!! THE!!! PLAYERMODELS!!!
The sausage characters make absolutely ZERO sense for this mode considering this is a survival HORROR game. Ideally in the future, the game would have custom models, perhaps even remade models of the original characters. But for now, at least make it so the game uses the normal human models because the sausage boys absolutely kill any sense of horror the game could possibly have.
Most of the other "fixes" I have in mind revolve around creating a better sense of horror. First, add a "taunt" wheel.like the original game. The best Subject 617 players always made good use out of the VO taunts to distill fear in the I.R.I.S team, and the I.R.I.S. VOs were iconic and really added oodles of atmosphere. Secondly, reshade everything to really try and copy the original edgy grime and grunge that the source engine had. Honestly, just switching the character models from sausage to human is gonna help a TON with this alone, but still, the Hidden: Source was undeniably a product of a much edgier time in culture, and the only way to pay homage to the original game is by respecting that era in its entirety.
Anyways, looking forward to the game being complete and ready. Seriously tho, change tge playermodels like TONIGHT dude please
