Really cool ! Very clever concept that I'm surprised hasn't been tried before. Also really neat ways of preventing cheating like requiring clicking whilst holding. Very challenging, fun party game

The character of Deadlock, the solid foundations of Valorant, and a vision like Team Fortress 2. Probably the best S&box game out right now in terms of polish. Really excited to see how it evolves

Load times so long it breaks Steam Recording. Gunplay and movement so bad I've played better in Roblox. (Frontlines, for example) They put all the effort into the pretty first person viewmodels but absolutely zero into movement that feels solid or at all controllable, and the gunplay is so janky, floaty and clunky it feels like it was an afterthought. Honestly not worth your time., Don't bother this with slop.

I've played an ungodly amount of DXRP on official servers when I was unemployed and it still needs a lot of work. This review is regarding just the official servers, not community hosted ones, since that's what I've played, please keep that in mind # Cons: Experimentation is often forbidden because of arbitrary reasons and "technically"s. The rules are super extensive, pretty confusing, and the efforts to patch all the loopholes adds to that confusion, meaning more rulebreaking (mostly in the Building rules.) They feel like your avarage lengthy ToS agreement, but you actually have to read it. Theres a big lack of quality of life features even this far into development. It's very grindy and time consuming, and they've also restricted a lot of what you can do without the Builder and Builder+ ranks that you have to grind a lot of ingame money for. Their stance on Gen AI use is similar to s&box itself, they welcome slop with open arms. Building is very time consuming and sometimes frustrating, basing is often boring Rules (on official) allow for one way walls, which makes raids quite one-sided in my opinion. Hence why I've almost always based, and that leads to quiet servers where everyone is just AFK. Rules (on official) don't allow fun: I made a driveable car out of props and joints (which Requires the super expensive Builder+ rank to make) and the mods label it as propfly. Nobody complained about it, I drove around having a blast for 3 hours one time. It needs better optimization too. DXRP (Official servers) can be fun but it takes quite a lot of being mildly-inconvenienced on repeat to get there. I've been deemed the "complainer" since I often voice frustrations with the game, but when I have fun, I don't announce it to the world. It's been a very 50/50 experience for me so I can't say I broadly dislike or like DXRP. I've enjoyed it a lot, I've hated it a lot. # Pros: Emergent roleplay and overall social goofs are super fun. Especially with the recent boom in playercount due to s&box's launch, theres a lot less silence in downtown. This was always what kept me coming back to DXRP. And it's what makes DarkRP in general so special. Update cadence: While the general QoL is rather lackluster, theres been a lot of fun features recently like emotes that elevate the social experience. I think community hosted servers are a phenomenal feature, which does mean re-learning another set of convoluted rules, but also means lots of the issues I listed above don't apply. Similar to s&box itself DXRP will be great in a few years and despite how much I complain about it, DXRP is pretty aight
