Sandtris game · 3 Days Ago Shows Promise
i thought the other review had to be exaggerating- but this dev must really have the highest contrast monitor on the planet because telling apart the color of the default pieces was legit impossible challenge for me and i'm not even colorblind. i love the premise of combining falling sand with tetris and was expecting to like this. i think with a little work this could improve greatly. in addition to fixing the contrast issue, maybe the default difficulty should be lowered a bit but it's hard to tell with colors in the current state. if this gets improved i promise to change my review. #rememberourpromise

this is actually pretty sick for an initial early access release. a roguelike tactics rpg with co-op and 15 classes, plus like 3 class advancements each that have their own 2 unique ascensions? there's a lot more than i expected. it's very ambitious. i think there's a lot of work to be done still though. the "how to play" page is spaced improperly in english, and there's some mechanics that don't have an explanation. i'm not sure what taking a "defensive stance" actually does as opposed to just ending the turn. or what tempo or research do. i also don't get why you can learn skills directly when there's a skill tree that uses the same points. i'd also like it if there was perhaps less basic fights. there should be fewer and harder battles for a more focused experience maybe. my biggest dislike is that emojis are used instead of actual art. it's kinda lame seeing a mystic represented by a orb emoji or an elemental represented by an arrow. would be nice to see proper pixel art in the game, i'd even take asset packs over the emojis. the music is nice but more songs are needed. there needs to be some QOL features like automatically selling trash gear or something. you get way too much gear and you can't sell it from the shared inventory so it takes a while to empty out. also, immobile barricades should not be taking turns. overall, definitely recommend checking this out, i'm excited to see how it improves!

a full-loot pvp space mmo is more amibitious than anything i ever expected from sbox. i don't really know if that's my kind of genre but clearly the developer put a lot of work into this for an initial release. i like that it feels more approachable than eve. though i imagine pvp in this game with everything on the line is going to turn a lot of people off. i didn't like the AI art, particularly noticable on the npc portraits. just get an asset pack for now or something.

idk if my game bugged but i spent five minutes struggling to get out of the first bunker and failing which sucks because i was pretty excited after seeing the screenshots. i do love how it replicate's riven's style despite being rendered in 3d realtime. i do recommend trying it, maybe you'll find whatever i missed. i do have to say the biggest problem in this game is probably that you seemingly can't pet the dog.

cool vibes, music wasn't bad but could've gone a lot harder and didn't really match the gritty visuals. i liked that the levels were straightforward and that the void keeps you moving. it's not the kind of roguelike where you go backtracking and mintpicking every single floor before proceeding. i really wasn't a fan of how absolutely fucked your vision gets as you stack substances to improve your stats. that's probably what will keep me from trying more runs. as someone with a visual condition it's not ideal. it'd be nice to have some settings to tone it out. regardless i recommend checking it out, and i'm looking forward to trying out the dev's future work!
