Honestly? I think people got too obsessed with the AI-hating thing.
I understand that there are low effort, "one-shotted", AI generated games out there (and here too in s&box), but we gotta accept AI is here and it will be part game creation process. No amount of AI-hating will stop that, I'm afraid.
So, to me, instead of joining the AI-hate-bandwagon, I've managed to look at these things and separate content and creative process between: the ones that do look like there's an human mind behind directing and taking the decisions; the rest that are simply low effort work (which was already happening before genAI became a thing!!), or a clear case of Ai-decides-all-for-me.
With that said, I dont think this game is the latter. I do think there's human thinking process behind the scenes, steering the AI tools available to speed up process and deliver something decently polished for an indie/solo team size project.
I can enjoy entries here that have a more polished look/content made/assisted via genAI, just as how I can also enjoy the ones that are made entirely with no/low-use of genAI tools in the development process. Both can be fun and valuable to me, it depends on what final thing is.
One extra thing I like in this case too is that the person/people behind it seem to be pretty active to deliver updates based on given feedback/reviews. This is great.
