Yesterday's Deep Shells Update removed the wall at shell 10, and a bit too much with it: a player past shell 100 told us every shell now took about 10 eggs. Thank you for the report! This patch fixes that, and a bigger problem waiting a little further down.
Deep shells take a few minutes again
The shop's prices rose 5× a shell, but with Warm Nest your income now keeps up with the sky's 15×, so the shop got three times cheaper every shell. Rich Yolk maxed out, and from about shell 40 a handful of eggs filled the sky. Now, past shell 11, shop prices keep up with the sky. Shells 1 to 11 are exactly as before. From shell 12 on, a shell takes about 2 to 3 minutes and a few hundred eggs, and stays that way.
The egg has a bottom
At shell 258 the numbers would have grown too big for the game to count: the yolk turned into infinity and the save broke. Shell 200 is now the bottom of the egg. From there the eggs get no tougher and the sky no thicker, and a hatch pays feathers only for the yolk. You can keep going as deep as you like, and every shell is like shell 200.
If your save went past shell 200 under the old rules, the game refunds your perks when you load in and gives your feathers back, counted the new way, to spend again.
The Yolk leaderboard moves again
The Yolk board had stopped updating for the deepest players at about 1e38, the most an s&box stat can hold. It now ranks a new stat, and everyone keeps their place.
