Flyers and Swimmers are playable for everyone - Archaeopteryx, Rahonavis, Pterodactyl, Deinosuchus, Mosasaurus and Megalodon (thank you for 100 players!)
Archaeopteryx unlocks from Raptor XP at the same point as the first Tyrant
Deinosuchus unlocks as soon as you play or skip the tutorial
Rahonavis and Mosasaurus unlock from Flyer and Swimmer XP; Pterodactyl and Megalodon are the class capstones
New FLYERS and SWIMMERS tabs on the dino select screen and in the Dino-pedia
14 new achievements - Unlocked and Mastered for all six, plus Sky Hunter and Leviathan
Long-haul flyers - Rahonavis and Pterodactyl stay in the air three times longer, and running on the ground tires them faster than flying
Archaeopteryx - the all-rounder, decent on the ground and in the air
Real flight - flyers fly with a physics body and slide around cliffs, rocks, trees and the ground instead of passing through
The Volcano - a huge volcano in the south-west corner, the tallest thing on the island, with a lava lake in its crater (don't fall in)
Sea life - sardines, prawns, jellyfish, salmon, tuna, octopus and turtles live in the sea in schools and groups, all breaded
Whales - very rare, sometimes with a calf
Sea floor - shells, starfish, coral, sand dollars, ammonites, urchins, anemones, sponges, kelp, giant clams and old whale bones
Growth bounce - your dino squishes and bounces every time it grows
Lake reflections - OFF / BAKED / PLANAR; Planar mirrors the far bank, trees and mountains in the water
Depth of field - optional (off by default), focuses where you aim, above and under water
Sun lens flare - with a toggle in Graphics
New Triceratops roar, call and hurt cry
New sky - realistic colours through the day, a sun disc, stars, and a moon with its own path that lights the night
Haze - distant ridges fade into the sky colour and a low haze settles in the valleys
Water - rivers, lakes and the sea are one surface, with foam on fast water and whitewater on the falls
Reflections - rivers and springs reflect the world too, not just the lakes
Small grass no longer squashes under every step
Two water layers on the wide river between West Lake and North Lake and the other lake outlets
Flying through cliffs, rocks and the ground
Days starting too dark after a session began at night
Rivers reborn - every river now starts at a mountain spring, runs down to one of the three lakes, and the lakes drain to the sea; deeper pools and wider reaches along the way, no more streams out of nowhere
New island map - the M map redrawn with the new rivers, springs and lakes
Open sea - swim or fly out past the island and it keeps going: an endless sea floor, haze on the horizon, and a current that turns you back before the edge
Reefs - rock outcrops, pinnacles and shelves on the deep ocean floor, some of them huge
Swimmers - Megalodon and Mosasaurus hunt the open ocean; Deinosuchus patrols the lakes and river mouths and hauls out on the banks
Flyers - Pterodactyl flocks, Archaeopteryx and Rahonavis soar across the island, land to drink and hunt, and take off again
Favourite foods - every species has five favourites; eating one gives one and a half times the food
Level 20 - every dino now levels to 20; unlocks are exactly where they were
Stat points - earn up to 20 per dino (spending them comes later)
Peas and carrots - dinos no longer pee; they drop peas and carrots instead
Home ranges - species now have places they favour across the island: Brontosaurus in the centre, raptors in the western woods, tyrants in the south-east
Broccoli and Ritz cracker - two new power-ups that work like the brownie and the mac and cheese
Moving power-ups - a collected power-up comes back somewhere else, never in the same spot
Fewer rocks - fewer rocks on land, and small ground rocks no longer collide
Deep water - plants and rocks on the deep bed are only drawn while you're in the water, for smoother frames everywhere else
Big trees - trunk collision matches the bark, and the largest trees use their real trunk shape
Forgiveness - a light accidental bite on a herd mate no longer turns the herd on you
Loners with a leader - solitary species that never herd with AI will follow a bigger or dominant player of their own kind
Carnivores - half as many roam the island
Family - a mate or your own hatchlings no longer attack you after a shared kill
Terrain - seams and jitter along the kilometre lines are gone
Swimming - no longer drains stamina; only sprint swimming does
River banks - Deinosuchus and other low dinos can climb out of rivers again
Multiplayer - joining players could only turn in place, and players took no damage from AI
Dino physics - about 0.5 ms a frame with 90 dinos, down from 3 ms
Solid world - your dino now moves on the engine's own character controller, with real feet collision, step height and walkable slope: no more walking through walls, up tree trunks or onto the tops of rocks
Cliffs - a cliff you couldn't really climb stops you at the base, whatever your size
AI dinos - no longer walk off cliff edges, into tree trunks or up large rocks
Big trees - trunk colliders match the visible bark, and the largest trees use their real trunk shape; no more standing four feet off the bark
Small rocks - ground rocks have no collision, so nothing to snag on
Swim stamina - swimming no longer drains stamina, only sprint swimming (Shift) does; fast swimmers like Deinosuchus were losing stamina on every swim
River exit - Deinosuchus and other low dinos can climb out of rivers again
Bites - land on the dino's body, not on an invisible capsule around it
Joining - joining players could only turn in place and saw an error on join
AI damage - players no longer shrug off AI bites in multiplayer
Roaming herds - dinos no longer pace a home spot; herds travel the island for water, food and cover, and meet at the rivers
Sleeping - at midday and at night herds lie down to rest in cover, and wake when danger comes near
Wary prey - herbivores spot you gradually, keep their distance and watch you, and only bolt when you charge
Sneaking - hold Ctrl to creep silently; strike before you're spotted for an ambush bite (x1.5 damage and a startle)
Smell - carnivores pick up blood, dung and carcasses and may track them down
Carcass fights - the owner guards its kill, scavengers circle and steal bites, the stronger dino takes over
Revenge - kill a herd's baby and the whole herd may turn on you, and they remember you
Sizing up - dinos weigh up a fight first; a lone hunter won't take on a whole herd
Growth from food - you grow as your body burns what you ate; the first growth step lands a few minutes in
XP for staying alive - every minute alive earns XP (more when fed and watered), plus XP for kills and catching critters
Starving grace - 10 minutes at zero food or water before you start losing health, with a countdown
Low food and water warnings - the thirst warning reminds you to press M to find water on the map
Photoreal ground - new grass, meadow, dry plains, dirt, forest floor, sand, pebbles, cliff and rock textures
Wet ground - rain darkens the ground and fills hollows with puddles that slowly dry out after the storm

Breading with character - stripes, plates, spikes and bellies show through as lighter or toasted nugget
Bigger crumb - a chunkier, crunchier breading on every dino

Waterfalls - they start at the real cliff edge
River mouths - every river mouth colours the sea, not just the nearest one
Lakes and ponds - larger, calmer ripples
Cleaner HUD - XP bar on top, then the compass and your growth rate; health and stamina bottom left; size, food and water bottom right

Missing assets - things the game loads in code (river critters and some materials) now ship with the game
Baby Deinosuchus - hatches in the water, not on the bank
Pee and poo meters - dinos just go on the move now, no button and no slowdown

Mudskippers - skip about on muddy banks and in the shallows

Lake, river and sea beds - rocks, boulders and underwater cliffs
Water plants - sway with the current and part around you as you swim through
Long weed and seaweed - grow taller the deeper the water

Tarn of the Summit - A mountain lake high on the western peak, spilling off the mountain in a cascade of waterfalls down to the sea

Micro Grass - Fine, dense short grass on sunny open ground breaks up the flat ground under your feet
River Current - Rivers carry you downstream when you swim or wade. Swim against it to fight the flow
Splashes & Wakes - Dinos splash when they jump or fall into water, and leave a wake as they wade and swim
